This exciting, practical course is suitable for anyone wishing to develop their acting for camera skills and promote themselves into the film and television industry.
There are 8 weeks each with a 3 hour class time (with 8 participants),7 weeks (with 6 participants).
The course will focus on:
Acting - Textual analysis; Creating a solid character; Human communicative chemistry; Active listening; Imagination, Spontaneity, 'Aliveness'; Emotional contact; Storytelling; Refining your performance; Confidence on the film/TV set.
Filming - Technical vocabulary; Crew hierarchy; Shot sizes; Eye-lines; Hitting your mark; Concentration, focus and relaxation on camera.
Catrin is a Welsh actor from Cardiff. She trained at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. She also works as a freelancer teaching screen acting and audition technique at the Bristol School of Acting. Additionally, she works with students who are auditioning for drama school, and has a lot of experience sitting on audition panels for drama school.

Television credits include: The Kill List (Sky) Doctors, Casualty (BBC); Lifelines (S4C); ‘Bang (BAFTA WALES WINNER) (S4C / BBC Wales); Doctor Who (BBC); Stella (Sky One); Misfits (E4); and Hearts of Gold (BBC).
She won Best Performance in a British Feature film award at the Edinburgh Film Festival for ’The Library Suicides’ (BFI/ Ffilm Cymru) directed by Euros Lyn.
She has also worked on many radio dramas for BBC Radio 4 and audio series for Big Finnish as well as short films for Ffilm Cymru.
Max is a shooting Producer/Director with over 30 years of experience working around the globe on a diverse range of productions from drama to long-term observational documentary projects, specialist factual and presenter lead wildlife programs. He has experience working in challenging environments from the Amazon to the Artic and an has extensive technical knowledge of camera, drone, location sound recording and lighting. In-between freelance film production work Max also ran the film production department of the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School for 15 years training actors and technical students to work in front of and behind the camera.
